My approach is empathetic, compassionate, and strengths-based, rooted in the belief that healing and growth take shape when we can explore our inner world with curiosity and kindness. I support clients in bringing new insights into conscious awareness, understanding their emotional and cognitive patterns, and finding the motivation and tools needed to create meaningful change. My work is grounded in evidence-based modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic Therapy, Mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing, Narrative Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Art Therapy. With over 10 years of experience, I support both teens and adults as they navigate life transitions, relationship challenges, trauma, grief and loss, anxiety, and depression. I strive to
create a safe, nonjudgmental, and collaborative therapeutic environment where clients feel seen, heard, and empowered. My work focuses on helping individuals deepen their understanding of themselves and the systems they move through, building resilience and confidence along the way. Together, we examine the underlying thoughts, beliefs, and narratives shaping daily life; identify internal strengths and coping strategies; and develop new resources to foster healing, growth, and self-efficacy. My goal is to collaborate with clients as they reconnect with their capacity for insight, compassion, creativity, and meaningful transformation.

Change—whether anticipated or sudden—can feel destabilizing. It can bring grief, uncertainty, or a loss of connection to oneself. Many people find themselves stuck, unsure of how to move forward after a pivotal event. Whether you’re navigating a major life transition, processing trauma, or struggling with identity shifts, I strive to help clients bridge the gap between where they are and where they want to be.
I specialize in working with individuals, couples, and families who are integrating significant life events—experiences that have disrupted their sense of self or stability. My approach combines evidence-based techniques, including mindfulness and somatic experiencing, with depth-oriented tools like dream work and Sand Tray therapy. Therapy is a space to explore the emotions beneath the surface and to reconnect with your inner wisdom and resilience.
I reference Attachment Theory, Internal Family Systems, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) principles to help clients regulate emotions, strengthen relationships, and regain clarity during times of change. As a queer therapist, I am committed to providing an affirming space for the LGBTQ+ community, particularly those navigating identity-related transitions or seeking healing in relationships.

I believe healing begins the moment we feel truly seen and accepted. My journey started in schools, where I saw firsthand how children use play and art to process their world when words aren’t enough. Today, I bring that same approach to my work with children, utilizing play to help them navigate their environment and build the skills they need to regulate their emotions.
For teenagers, I provide a collaborative space to navigate the profound changes of adolescence. I partner with teens to build self-esteem and a clear sense of identity, helping them move toward independence with confidence. Simultaneously, I work with families to replace power struggles with mutual respect through a gentle parenting framework—ensuring children feel heard while retaining their power to choose.
When working with adults, my approach is strengths-based and person-centered. My experience in re-entry advocacy reinforced my belief in human resilience and the necessity of a non-judgmental ear. I specialize in helping clients manage anxiety and depression by uncovering their innate strengths and building practical coping strategies.
As an MSW intern, I am supervised by licensed clinicians and draw from CBT, DBT mindfulness skills, and Trauma-Informed Care to provide a well-rounded, evidence-based experience for every client I serve.

I am a clinician interested in understanding the human experience and empowering the client to remember their wholeness, intelligence, and goodness. I strive to create opportunities for the client to relax and open up to the joys in life. I look to find ways to connect the client back to themselves, to have a fuller, more honest, authentic, confident, and compassionate relationship with themselves and the world.
I often integrate the mind, emotions, and the body into therapy. It is my view, that once we are aware of our own thoughts, feelings, and sensations, we can better give and receive from our relationships and the world. Nature is often an important relationship in our busy lives, and reconnecting to it’s beauty and majesty can be very healing for some clients. In a world where we are often left to feel isolated and empty, my therapeutic approach is to support clients in bringing a sense of belonging, relationship, and meaning back into their lives.
I like to work with clients who are willing to explore themselves and the world; sometimes in therapy it can be helpful to practice “not knowing” and humility as we let go of the old and make our way in a new direction. It has been my experience that much of the suffering and neurosis we experience comes from our anxiety and fear. The work I hope to offer highlights the client’s ability to open both mentally and somatically and relax; when we know what is in our control and what is not we learn to trust ourselves more deeply.
As a LMFT, my areas of focus include:
Early Adulthood, Adulthood, and Senior or Elders

I am a new counselor, but a long-term North Tahoe community member. I, like many, moved here in my twenties with not much more plan than to ski for a season. Here I am 18 years later with much more knowledge and experience, which I hope to employ in the service of bettering. The transition to adulthood and purpose can emerge at any time in life. I grew up skiing competitively and pursued it along many avenues for over 30 years. This informed my experience and marks many of my connections to this community. Now, with a Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy from UNR I hope to serve Truckee-Tahoe as an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist.
I provide therapy for teens and adults, individuals, couples and families. Struggles and transitions are inherent parts of life, but also do not come with instructions or understanding. As trite as it sounds, you don’t know until you know. Our society does not incorporate emotional education as fully as it does technical education and experiences in therapy help to fill this troubling gap. I lean into Existential Therapy practices to help understanding, and when a client’s mindset differs from my own, I try to employ a modality more comfortably suited to their experience.
If a client experiences severe physical anxiety I may try Mindful breathing or grounding techniques to reengage with the moment. When calm is found, perhaps the clear structure of the Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) Change Triangle can help a client move through their thoughts, feelings and behaviors. As emotional awareness is gained, perhaps we pivot into an Emotionally Focused path of change, bearing witness to grief, loneliness, frustration or longing as they surface for you or your loved one as the client.
The key to a successful therapeutic relationship is the one we build as therapist and client and is evidence based as foundational to positive outcomes. I strive to build trust and understanding in an open and nonjudgmental space bringing empathy, education and maybe humor. I have a unique background, specific to lifestyles more common to our little corner of the world, and I hope I can meet others who have loved this life. Initial meetings can involve parents, partners or individually to establish a basic rapport, and I hope that our shared experience can lead to lasting change. As an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist I am excited to utilize my UNR training here in Truckee and grow with you all, finding connection, challenges and growth in the therapeutic relationship we establish. If you’re ready to get started, I always offer a 15-min consult to see if we are a good fit. I’d love to help you or a member of your family get the help they need to live better.
