My approach is empathetic, compassionate, and strengths-based, rooted in the belief that
healing and growth take shape when we can explore our inner world with curiosity and
kindness. I support clients in bringing new insights into conscious awareness, understanding
their emotional and cognitive patterns, and finding the motivation and tools needed to create
meaningful change. My work is grounded in evidence-based modalities including Cognitive
Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic Therapy, Mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing,
Narrative Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Art Therapy.
With over 10 years of experience, I support both teens and adults as they navigate life
transitions, relationship challenges, trauma, grief and loss, anxiety, and depression. I strive to
create a safe, nonjudgmental, and collaborative therapeutic environment where clients feel
seen, heard, and empowered.
My work focuses on helping individuals deepen their understanding of themselves and the
systems they move through, building resilience and confidence along the way. Together, we
examine the underlying thoughts, beliefs, and narratives shaping daily life; identify internal
strengths and coping strategies; and develop new resources to foster healing, growth, and
self-efficacy. My goal is to collaborate with clients as they reconnect with their capacity for
insight, compassion, creativity, and meaningful transformation.

Change—whether anticipated or sudden—can feel destabilizing. It can bring grief,
uncertainty, or a loss of connection to oneself. Many people find themselves stuck, unsure of
how to move forward after a pivotal event. Whether you’re navigating a major life transition,
processing trauma, or struggling with identity shifts, I strive to help clients bridge the gap
between where they are and where they want to be.
I specialize in working with individuals, couples, and families who are integrating significant
life events—experiences that have disrupted their sense of self or stability. My approach
combines evidence-based techniques, including mindfulness and somatic experiencing, with
depth-oriented tools like dream work and Sand Tray therapy. Therapy is a space to explore
the emotions beneath the surface and to reconnect with your inner wisdom and resilience.
I reference Attachment Theory, Internal Family Systems, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy
(DBT) principles to help clients regulate emotions, strengthen relationships, and regain
clarity during times of change. As a queer therapist, I am committed to providing an affirming
space for the LGBTQ+ community, particularly those navigating identity-related transitions or
seeking healing in relationships.

My name is Kimberly Anderson and I am currently an MSW Intern, working toward my LCSW. I have been an educator for the past 15 years, working with various populations to include teens, adults, and various levels of learners, to include working in alternative education with troubled teens. I have continued to expand my own education to improve upon my craft as an educator, earning degrees in education, education administration, philosophy, politics and economics and social psychology. Over the course of my career I have observed the struggle that is life through the learning lens as education can provide access to opportunity. However, opportunity can only be realized if we are willing, ready, and able. Thus, my desire to continue my education and branch into mental health in order to collaborate with individuals who may be struggling to identify and tackle the barriers to their one unique success. As a single mother of two, educator and life long learner, I understand the power of the self, as we must take an active role in our journey to success.
The experience of life is one of challenge and change. I believe an investment in the self, our thoughts, our daily practices and our relationships are the keys to our success in the navigation of our unique paths of challenges and changes. Therapy is an opportunity to engage in successful navigation of the challenges and changes of life through collaboration and support.
As Norman Vincent Peale so eloquently stated, “change your thoughts and you will change your world.”
As an MSW intern I am training under the supervision of licensed clinicians to provide care to all ages. I am particularly interested in working with adolescents and women who may be struggling with identity, the self, and purpose. My approach to support is collaborative and realistic as I seek to identify existing barriers to success and resources in one’s environment that can facilitate holistic health. This includes evaluating relationship dynamics, attitude, self-talk, self-care, and daily practices that facilitate total mind/body health.
